LEVELCORE PrimeLock WPM

Dual-Use Sealer & Primer

Single-component acrylic copolymer system that seals porous mineral substrates and primes them for superior adhesion. Helps control rising damp, reduces efflorescence, and resists negative hydrostatic pressure on sound, prepared surfaces.

Why it’s different: LEVELCORE PrimeLock WPM bonds tenaciously to masonry, concrete block, concrete, and stone, and is easy to apply by brush, roller, or airless spray—no mixing, no fuss.

Ideal for: Interior commercial and residential floors and walls prior to self-leveling underlayments, tile, resilient/LVT, and coatings.

Product Description

PrimeLock WPM is a dual-purpose, liquid-applied waterproofing membrane and bonding primer designed for interior wet areas. Applied by brush or roller, it forms a continuous waterproof barrier while also improving adhesion for subsequent tiling or topping systems as part of an approved build-up.

Key Benefits

Sealer + Primer in one

Consolidates the surface and promotes strong adhesive bond—fewer steps, faster installs.

Moisture management

Helps prevent rising damp and efflorescence on internal substrates.

Hydrostatic resistance

Formulated to resist negative-side moisture pressure from the substrate.

Strong adhesion

Bonds to masonry, concrete block, concrete, and stone.

Single-component

Ready to use—no mixing or catalyst required

Fast application

Brush, roller, or airless spray for efficient coverage

Versatile system compatibility

Use beneath self-leveling underlayments, tile, and many floor finishes (verify details in the TDS).

Uniform film build

Smooth, continuous film for reliable protection and primer performance.

Interior only

Purpose-built for internal commercial and residential projects.

Where To Use

Residential Interiors
Basements & cellars

Interior side of below-grade walls and slabs to manage inward moisture pressure.

Bathrooms, laundries, powder rooms

Under tile or underlayment as a sealer-primer.

Kitchens & pantries

Under resilient or tile systems in moisture-prone zones.

Living areas on slab

As part of a moisture-control system prior to flooring.

Commercial Interiors
Retail & offices

Slab-on-grade areas prior to carpet tile, LVT, rubber, or resilient floors.

Hospitality & multifamily

Back-of-house, corridors, bathrooms, laundry rooms, amenity areas.

Healthcare & education

Service rooms, locker rooms, and interior plant rooms

Parking-adjacent interiors

Interiors over or beside damp concrete where negative pressure is a risk.

Not intended for: Exterior/UV-exposed surfaces or as a traffic-bearing topcoat. Protect with tile, underlayment, screed, or a finished flooring system as specified.

Simple How-To (Undertile wet areas)

1.
Prepare the surface
  • Ensure the substrate is structurally sound and free of dirt / dust / laitance / grease / paint / wax / oil and loose contaminants.
  • Remove sharp protrusions and fully fill/support any gaps or voids.
2.
Substrate checks (before coating)
  • New concrete: allow to cure at least 6 weeks.

  • Old concrete: clean with commercial detergent/degreaser, wash residues off, then allow to dry at least 24 hours.

  • Steel trowel/power float finish: mechanically abrade to expose aggregate.

  • Let dry ~4 hours at 20°C

3.
Apply Coat 2

Apply a second coat, fully covering it; dry ~4 hours.

4.
Final checks + cure before covering
  • If needed, apply a 3rd coat, and ensure there are no pinholes.

  • Do not cover with tiles/other materials for at least 24 hours after the final coat (longer in confined/unfavourable drying conditions).

External deck note (if used externally): mortar coving is recommended at turn-ups where vertical walls meet the deck; take reinforced membrane above the top edge of the coving and push membrane into corners

Quick Specs

Type / Base

Acrylic-based, water-based waterproofing/dampproofing/moisture barrier; ready to use (do not thin).

Colour

Grey/white.

Trafficable

Non-trafficable.

Key features

Extremely flexible (handles limited movement/vibration); non-hazardous & non-flammable (water-based); prevents surface water penetration when applied correctly.

Suitable substrates

Concrete, renders/screeds, fibre-cement sheets, timber, wet area plasterboard, plywood, etc.

Typical uses

Wet areas undertile (bathrooms/showers), kitchens/worktops; also terraces/balconies/concrete roofs/cement toppings.

Pack sizes

20kg

Coverage (with fiberglass reinforcing)

20kg covers approx 9m² (2 coats); apply about 1.5kg/m² first coat and about 1.0kg/m² over reinforced mat (site dependent).

Dry times (at 20°C)

~4 hours between coats; final cross-coat dry 24 hours.

Temperature limits

Do not apply above 40°C or below 5°C; colder temps extend drying/curing, hotter temps reduce them.

Max brush-applied layer thickness:

Should not exceed 5mm.

Meet LEVELCORE Feather Finish, the fast track way to achieve a perfectly smooth, permanent surface before floorcovering. Engineered with a self drying, cement based matrix, the mix water is chemically converted within the product—so it doesn’t have to evaporate to dry. That means you can move from prep to installation in as little as 15 minutes on suitable substrates, keeping programs on schedule and minimizing downtime.

Feather Finish blends with clean water into a creamy, easytroweling mortar that glides on and bonds tenaciously. Use it to correct surface irregularities and create a feather edge finish across concrete, wood, ceramic and quarry tile—typically without priming or additives. The result is a dense, durable surface that helps eliminate common installation issues such as debonding, crumbling, mildew and staining.

Ideal under vinyl, carpet, and ceramic tile, Feather Finish is designed for interior use wherever a fast, consistent skim coat is essential—entrances, corridors, retail spaces, education and healthcare projects, and residential renovations. Finish smooth, install fast, and move on with confidence—backed by the LEVELCORE 10 Year Guarantee when installed as directed.

Compatible Substrates

Always ensure substrates are structurally sound and properly prepared. See the Technical Data Sheet for moisture/vapor limits, surface profile, and compatibility requirements.

What “negative hydrostatic pressure” means

Moisture can push from outside the slab or wall toward the interior. When applied on the interior side, LEVELCORE PrimeLock WPM forms a film that resists that inward pressure, helping keep finishes bonded and surfaces dry.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I apply it by spray?

Yes—LEVELCORE PrimeLock WPM can be applied by airless spray, as well as by brush or roller.

Yes, it’s designed to seal and prime internal substrates beneath SLPs and tile. Always confirm primer/adhesive compatibility in the TDS.

It helps control efflorescence by reducing moisture transport that carries salts to the surface

No. It’s for interior use and must be covered by the subsequent system (tile, underlayment, screed, or floor finish).

Follow the TDS for concrete age and moisture conditions, and complete all required surface preparation.

In most systems, yes—LEVELCORE PrimeLock WPM functions as both a sealer and a
primer. Always verify adhesion requirements of your adhesive / underlayment manufacturer.
